Ready to go...

Filled out the council pre-commencement form over the weekend and faxed it in. Got confirmation today that our First Home Owners Grant has been approved, so we're all set for the build to begin now. Hopefully the site scrape will be towards the end of this week, or sometime next week.

Timeline

We've been planning to build for quite a long time, so here's our timeline to get to where we are today:

• Started looking at land and houses - mid 2009
• Decided on Saltwater Coast as our preferred land development - late 2009
• Decided on Carlisle Homes as out preferred builder - early 2010
• Put a deposit on our land - 10th July 2010
• Put a deposit on the house - 30th July 2010
• Colour browse - 4th September 2010
• Colour selections - 22nd October 2010
• Tender appointment - 3rd November 2010
• Contract signing - 24th November 2010
• Land titles originally due - February 2011
• Planned build start - April 2011
• Land titled - 6th May 2011
• Land settlement - 20th May 2011
• Current site start estimate - June 2011

Titled and Settled

Welcome to this blog. We'll be using it to share the progress on the build of our house in Saltwater Coast Point Cook. We're building a Newington 40 with Carlisle Homes and can't wait to get in, but there's a fair way to go first.

The first step in the process has been completed now though as the land was titled a couple of weeks ago and we had settlement on Friday. Now it's just a case of getting the plans approved by the design committee, getting permits etc. and starting the build.
