Landscaping Pics
Sorry for the delay in updating the house since the move, but time has been crazy. We've been in about 6 weeks now and have finally had the landscaping completed, blinds (well nearly all) installed, lights fitted and fencing done. It's been a busy few weeks. We have had my parents visiting from the UK too, so at least they got to see the place completed before they left.
You have to love a 28 day water restriction exclusion! Yay for the sprinkler.

PCI!
We've been away on holiday for a couple of weeks, so haven't been able to monitor progress on the house, other than the odd voicemail from our Site Supervisor. We went around on the day we got back and found the house basically complete - temporary fencing down, floors in etc. all looking great. The following day we got the call for our PCI, which was originally scheduled for next Thursday, but since we're both very busy next week, I asked if we could do it today.
Our SS showed us all around the house and pointed out the things we needed to know like how to take the door off the hinges if someone gets locked in the toilet!
There was nothing major we spotted during the PCI, just a few things that had already been noted and a few paint touch ups here and there. We've got an independent inspector going around on Monday too to look for the things that we don't know to look for, but hopefully there won't be anything major to come out of that.
Assuming that there's nothing major picked up in the report, we should get the keys in the next week or two!

Only weeks to go!!
Well it's starting to look like a home! Outside is complete. Just awaiting garage door. Inside the tiling has started and nearly done. Electrical fit out commenced today and is 60% done! We have aircon and heating done. Kitchen is to the correct colours and the power point has been installed on the island bench. So flooring in and we'll be done!!
PCI possibly the w/c 10th October with handover by the 31st October. So it will be all systems go when we return from holidays.

The End is in Sight
Front doors fitted- just need staining
Our temporary "Bay View"
The scaffolding is down and the place now starting to look like a home. We had an inspection on Friday and were told by our SS that PCI could be as soon as the 2nd week of October, with handover 2 weeks later. Fingers crossed we should be moving in by the start of November, right before my mum and step dad are due to be visiting.
Apart from the stairs and the kitchen island bench, everything else is looking good (although the wrong colours still look good and well made- just in the oposite colour from what they should be). They have started paining this week and I look forward to tiling starting end of next week. I really don't remember what we chose, so am keen to see how it all comes out.

Lock Up!
We received the lock up stage claim on Friday, so from site start to lock up we're at 10 weeks and from slab pour to lock up is just 8 weeks. Before we got locked out, I managed to grab a few photos of the interior.
Stairs!
Balusters should be Stainless Steel, although the black could just be protecting the underlying finish. Something to check with the SS on Friday.
Ensuite units
Kitchen - The island should be the same colour as the top cabinets - raised this with our CLE and it's being resolved.

Rendering
I headed around after nearly a whole 7 days without visiting the site, to find that the bricks have been rendered and I could see the staircase had been installed. I couldn't tell if the railing were in, but could see the stairs and bannisters. Hopefully I can go and have a look upstairs when we do the site visit next week. There will be many more pictures from that visit.
I am a little worried that there appears to be a cherry red render on the house, but I'm really hoping that's an undercoat, as I really don't remember choosing cherry red for the outside!!!

More progress
I went around to the site today and found the brickwork going up. Things are still rattling along at a hectic pace and I don't think it'll be long until we get the lock up claim from the builder now. Inside there's been lots going on too...
The guys that put in the smart wiring and home theater wiring were there today. Since that is one of the most important aspects of the house from my perspective, it was nice to meet them and I got a good feeling about their knowledge and they seemed to be doing a good job with what they'd done so far.
Also on the interior, most if not all of the plumbing work seems to be in place and there's electrical wiring everywhere for lights and power.
Our site supervisor told us that the plastering would start next week, and that certainly seems to be the case based on the amount of plasterboard that was around.
Overall, I'm very impressed with how everything is progressing so far.
